Scoop 20120613 - 4th Birthday Scoop

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Omaha Biofuels Coop!!! Four years ago today, we incorporated as a group of people working to improve the quality of life and reduce emissions in our local community by replacing petroleum fuels with biofuels. It has been a very interested four years, and we should expect much more in the future.

Zoning and Permitting
By far the largest hurdle we have encountered as an organization has been regulatory uncertainty are we have worked to produce local fuels. Recently, we have been aggressively working on identifying a new production location that will comply with all regulations, so we can help teach others about production, use, and positive community outcomes from local biofuels. We have been reviewing the City codes for both Zoning and Permitting, and hopefully there will be more detailed updates soon.

Nebraska Energy Fair
Save the date for the NE Energy Fair again this year,

We are working to put together some biofuels carpools up to the fair, stay tuned for more details.

This email will arrive to you at the very end of our 4th Birthday Party, I hope you saw us on Facebook and stop by the website to see how things are coming along with our digital outreach. I was out this evening at a discussion hosted by the Sustainability Leadership Institute, and catching up with leaders from Mode Shift Omaha as we prepare for implementation of the .

I want to thank you all for a great four years, the Coop has meant more to me personally than any other organization I've worked with. The experience I've gained has helped me shift my career toward energy efficiency and clean energy generation, and I am very proud of everything we've accomplished together.
